Private Initiation Journey

A sacred threshold for those profoundly changed by the loss of a beloved pet

Pet loss identity shift through identity unravelling, the threshold and identity rebirth

Sometimes, after profound pet loss, it’s not just your beloved pet who is gone.

It can feel like parts of you are gone too.

Pet loss identity shifts can reach into who you are, how you see your life, and what matters to you now.

This private journey is for those navigating not only grief… but the deeper transformation that loss can create.

Shared with full permission from clients, who kindly allowed snippets of their sessions to be used for this video.

This work was not created from theory.

After the sudden loss of my own soul pet, Charlie, I found myself walking this path firsthand — confronting not only grief, but the profound pet loss identity shifts, deeper awakenings, and internal transformations that loss can initiate.

I created this space because I know intimately what it means to stand at that threshold.

There’s a point in grief that people don’t really talk about.

Where the intensity settles…
but something in you doesn’t go back.

You’re functioning.
You’re getting through your days.

But underneath it…

👉 you’re not the same person anymore

And if you’re honest…

👉 you already know you can’t go back

After Charlie passed, I found myself in that space.

Not just grieving him…
but confronting the reality that I was no longer the same person I had been before his passing.

This isn’t coming from observation.

Since his passing, I’ve had to walk this path myself.

I am still walking it.

The version of me that existed with him… changed.

The way I saw things.
What mattered.
Who I was.
Even what I was no longer willing to tolerate.

I realised I wasn’t only learning how to live with his absence.

I was learning how to live as someone who had been fundamentally changed by loving him and losing him.

And there wasn’t really a space for that.

This felt like it needed its own space.

Loss can quietly reshape everything —

Not just through heartbreak,
but through what it dismantles, reveals, and fundamentally changes within you.

For some, this is where grief becomes more than grief.

Where loss doesn’t just hurt… it changes you.

The way you see life.
Yourself.
What matters.
What no longer fits.

You might not have words for it yet.

It may feel like an identity shift.
A deeper awareness.
A spiritual or existential unfolding.

Or simply the unmistakable knowing that something in you has changed.

And it’s not going back.

You might feel like:

  • Your life has split into “before” and “after” your pet’s passing
  • Parts of who you were no longer fit the life you’re living now
  • The way you see things has fundamentally shifted
  • You cannot return to who you were, even if you tried
  • Something new is there… but you can’t fully name it yet

This is difficult to explain to people who haven’t experienced it.

You may find yourself trying to force your way forward — or trying endlessly to make sense of something that has changed you at a level words don’t quite reach.

And without understanding what has actually shifted, it’s easy to keep trying to return to a version of yourself that no longer fits.

This is where this work begins.

This isn’t simply grief support.

It’s not about helping you only cope.

It’s about helping you understand what this loss has done, undone, revealed, and initiated within you.

And to help you find your footing within who you are now.

Pet Loss Identity & What Shifts Through This Work

This isn’t about becoming someone entirely new.

It’s about developing deeper clarity around what has already changed.

It’s about rebuilding grounded self-trust.

It’s about moving from disorientation…into deeper clarity.

From collapse…into grounded reorientation.

Over time, many people begin to notice:

  • the mental circling softens
  • the “before vs after” tension eases
  • you stop trying to force yourself back into an old identity
  • you feel steadier within yourself
  • what’s emerging begins to make real sense
  • you develop a more honest relationship with who you are now
  • you begin making choices that more genuinely reflect what matters now
  • you’re no longer carrying it all alone

You start settling into something that actually feels true.

🔥 What happens inside this work

This isn’t rigid.
This isn’t mechanical.
And this isn’t about forcing transformation.

But there is a clear process to what we’re doing.

Because when profound loss has changed you, there can be distinct phases in finding your footing again.

This work helps you meet those phases consciously, with grounded support, rather than unconsciously trying to force yourself backward.

I hold this work through three core phases:

Weeks 1–4: Identity Unravelling

This is where we begin to look honestly at what’s no longer you.

We start with where you actually are —

what’s been surfacing,
what feels stuck,
what no longer fits,
what feels disorienting,
and what may already be quietly dissolving beneath the surface.

From there, we begin uncovering what’s underneath.

The beliefs you’ve formed.
The meanings you’ve attached.
The guilt.
The self-protection.
The parts of you still trying to hold onto what may no longer fit.

We don’t rush this.

We go into it properly.

Because without understanding what has truly shifted, it’s easy to unconsciously cling to old structures, old identities, or old ways of being that this loss may already be dismantling.

For some, this phase also begins revealing deeper existential or spiritual questions that have emerged through loss.

Weeks 5–8: Threshold Work

This is the part most people try to skip.

The in-between.

Where you are no longer who you were…but you do not yet fully know who you are becoming.

This space can feel:

  • Unclear
  • Unsettling
  • Emotionally raw
  • Spiritually awakening
  • Deeply disorienting

This is often where people begin questioning what is happening to them, because the old no longer fits and the new is not yet clear.

Here, we work directly with what is arising in real time —

  • the uncertainty
  • the discomfort
  • the collapse of the old
  • the deeper questions
  • the fear
  • the old self-beliefs
  • and any spiritual or existential shifts that may be unfolding

Not to force answers. Not to rush clarity.

But to help you understand what is truly happening, so you can move through this space with greater steadiness, self-trust, and grounded awareness.

Over time, what once felt chaotic often begins reorganising into something quieter,
clearer, and more deeply true.

Weeks 9–12: Reorientation Work

This is where things often begin to settle into greater clarity.

Not as a false “new identity.”

Not as forced reinvention.

But as a more honest relationship with who you are now.

You begin noticing:

What has changed.
What no longer aligns.
What matters more deeply.
What you are no longer available for.
What feels true now.

This is where we begin anchoring that.

So you are not simply experiencing insight — you are beginning to live from it.

For many, this phase also creates:

  • deeper self-trust
  • grounded clarity
  • stronger alignment
  • renewed meaning
  • choices that more genuinely reflect who they are now

And for some…this may also include a stronger sense of spiritual awakening,
Purpose, or a quieter but undeniable pull toward a more authentic way of living.

🔥 How we work within each session

Each session meets you where you are.

But this work goes deeper than conversation alone.

We begin with what is present.

We uncover what sits beneath it.

We move into what is real — not around it.

Together, we work with:

  • emotional patterns
  • identity shifts
  • grief responses
  • nervous system responses
  • deeper self-beliefs
  • existential or spiritual shifts, where relevant

And then we allow space for integration.

Because insight alone does not create lasting change.

What we uncover needs space to be processed, understood, and gradually integrated into how you live.

This is not about me giving you answers.

It is about helping you hear, understand and trust what is becoming clearer within you.

What this includes:

  • Extended opening session (2–2.5 hours)
  • Weekly 1:1 private sessions across 12 weeks (1.5 hours each)
  • Emotional, identity-level and nervous system support
  • Exploration of grief, beliefs, identity shifts and what may be changing beneath the surface
  • Space for existential or spiritual questions where they naturally arise
  • Email support between sessions when something important arises or needs clarification
  • A structured three-phase journey through Identity Unravelling, Threshold Work and Reorientation
  • An intentional closing process to help integrate and anchor what has shifted

This space is designed to meet you at depth.

Not simply to help you cope, but to help you understand what this loss has done, undone, revealed and changed within you.

Who this is for:

This may be for you if:

  • the most acute period of grief has stabilised, but you know you have not returned to who you were
  • something in you feels fundamentally changed
  • your loss has affected how you see yourself, your life, your relationships or what matters to you
  • deeper existential or spiritual questions have emerged
  • you are looking for more than coping strategies
  • you are ready to explore honestly what has changed and what is emerging now

This is for those who know:

👉 “I am not simply grieving. Something deeper has shifted.”

Who this is not for:

  • if you are currently in acute or highly destabilising early-stage grief, my Pet Grief Support services may be a better place to begin. If you need more immediate, focused support, please see my Emergency Pet Grief Session.
  • if you are looking for quick answers, external direction, or simple solutions
  • if you are seeking something to remove, bypass, or “fix” what you are feeling
  • if you are not yet ready to honestly explore deeper identity-level change
  • if this level of self-exploration does not feel right for you at this time

There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing different support.

This space is simply very specific.
